In the studios of KCET, Los Angeles, MELVYN BRAGG meets Norman Mailer to talk about his recently published biography of Marilyn Monroe.
Mailer's biography complements a collection of photographs of Marilyn Monroe , who was in her time the most sought-after photographic subject in the world.
Marilyn Monroe died on 5 August 1962, aged 33. Despite her extraordinary world-wide appeal, her personality remains enigmatic.
Also included in the programme, MARILYN MONROE on film, including scenes from The Prince and the Showgirl, Some Like it Hot and The Misfits.
