starring Edward G. Robinson James Cagney , Evalyn Knapp
This afternoon's Saturday Cinema affords a rare opportunity to see almost all the Warner Brothers' stars of the 30s and 40s in two films. Edward G. followed up his success as Little Caesar with this film about the rise and fall of a fast-talking small town gambler. Nick the Barber heads for the city to make a killing in the big game but a penchant for blondes proves to be his undoing. James Cagney , making his only screen appearance with Edward G. , plays his assistant.
