The Macmillan Nursing Service in Cornwall. Cancer is a life-threatening disease which will affect at least one in three of us sometime in our lives. Just over ten years ago it was realised that someone else was needed to supplement the work of GPs and district nurses in the home care of cancer patients and their families.
In Cornwall alone, there are now 16 nurses whose role is to make their patients' lives as free from pain and as comfortable as possible. Producer David Spires
