Baby Love. Joan Bakewell looks into the story of Clare and James Jones , who face opposition from their local authority in their bid to adopt a baby from Romania. The council has a policy of not helping inter-country adoptions, which it believes do nothing for the children involved or for the 'donor country'. But while long-term solutions are sought, in the short term we continue to see pictures of children living in desperately deprived conditions.
