New series 1/3. Royal Marine-turned explorer
Bruce Parry embarks on a second series of adventures among indigenous tribes, this time along Ethiopia's ethnically diverse Omo Valley. Why do the Nyangatom have such a fearsome reputation? Bruce is determined to find out, and is soon welcomed with a drink of blood. Though at first he is trained to do the women's work, such as milking the goats, Bruce is also invited to join the Ibex, the warriors of the tribe, in their various sports and on their heavily armed patrols of their lands. But how will he fare when, in his initiation into the Ibex, he is forced to perform a sacrifice himself?
