President of the Muscular Dystrophy Group appeals on its behalf.
In its worst form, muscular dystrophy destroys the muscles of young children. Now, research is on the verge of a major discovery - scientists predict that, within at most a few months, they will know what causes the disease. Sir Richard's appeal is for funds to turn this new knowledge into the discovery of a treatment.
