From Armagh Cathedral
Charles Wood and C. V. Stanford were the two Irish musicians primarily concerned in the renaissance of British church music at the end of the last century. They were much associated with each other, both at the Royal College of Music and at Cam-bridge, where each in turn was Professor of Music, Wood succeeding Stanford on the latter's death in 1924. Wood has a special connection with Armagh Cathedral, ashe was born in the organist's house.
