The Long Valley - a study of bereavement
We all have to face bereavement at some time, but we normally approach it with fear. We tend to suppress our own tears, and to be embarrassed if other people want us to share their grief. Surprisingly, however, the more you know about bereavement the easier it is to see a hopeful end to this ' long valley'.
Six people who have each lost somebody very close describe their own progress through the stages of grief. With the help of a psychi- j atrist Colin Parkes , and insights from the personal diary of c. s. LEWIS - the programme follows them on their journey towards a new life.
