As the tourist millions pour across the face of Europe at this time of the year in search of the sea, sunshine, adventure and culture, Europa tonight goes to some of the forgotten corners of the Continent to look at something the tourists probably missed.
Something that could be a great tourist attraction, if only more tourists knew about it - the myths, the folklore, the strange customs that still persist in many out of the way places.
See the dancing Dervishes of Yugoslavia, the weird rites to cure all ills in southern Italy, the strange marriage customs in villages buried deep in the beliefs of Rumania.
But how long can these oddities survive unexploited as the motorways probe deeper and deeper into the odd corners of Europe bringing with them the mechanised and, some say, monotonous way of life, from the industrialised countries of Northern Europe?
