The oldest member of the choir is just nineteen. He and the others who are singing alto, tenor, and bass are members of school choirs, and they have been gathered together by the Royal School of Church Music to sing the services for a fortnight during the absence of the Cathedral Choir on holiday. The trebles are boys drawn mainly from parish church choirs. The Royal School of Church Music was founded by the late Sir Sydney Nicholson twenty years ago.
