Live from the St Magnus Festival in Kirkwall, a midsummer concert featuring the first performance of the Violin Concerto by Peter Maxwell Davies Royal Philharmonic Orchestra leader BARRY GRIFFITHS conductor Andre Previn soloist Isaac Stern (violin) The concert is given in Britain's most northerly cathedral, a magnificent red sandstone building begun in the 12th century and dedicated to the island's patron saint St Magnus.
