Show of the North

on BBC One London

International Entertainment from Scotland
starring Andy Stewart
and featuring Tony Osborne, Viola Talvi, The Karlins, The Nigel Brooks Singers, The Bruce McClure Dancers, Hugh Evans, Matt McGinn, Irene Sunters
BBC Scottish Radio Orchestra
Leader, Ian Tyre
Conductor, Iain Sutherland

Tonight's show is the second of three programmes from Scotland starring Andy Stewart and featuring international guest artists. Each programme has a theme: this week it's Love.
Viola Talvi performs a Finnish folk song specially arranged for her by Ralph Dollimore. The Karlins entertain with their latest release, and Tony Osborne plays his own arrangement of A Highland Rhapsody. The singers and dancers join forces in an all-action country and western number, and Andy Stewart's solo spot has some outstanding impressions of Harry Worth, Dr. Cameron, and Albert Steptoe.
