A concert live from Studio 1, Maida Vale , featuring three 20th-century works for piano and orchestra. Robert Simpson 's piano concerto, written in 1967, is performed tonight in the year of the 80th anniversary of the composer's birth. From a younger generation, Robert Keeley studied with Oliver Knussen and with Robert Saxton. His Entourages for piano and orchestra, commissioned by the BBC, here receives its first broadcast performance. The concert opens with two versions of Debussy's waltz, and American-born composer George Antheil 's concerto from 1926 completes the programme. BBC Symphony Orchestra, conductor Grant Llewellyn
