In 1978 a lone yachtsman sailing in a race from New Zealand to Australia was shipwrecked on Middleton Reef, called by some 'Australia's Bermuda Triangle'. Bill Belcher survived for 28 days in a tiny rubber life-raft. This is the story of the events surrounding his ordeal and also that of his wife who fought bureaucracy to try and save him.
