The World About Us: The Insect Man

on BBC Two England

A tribute to Jean-Henri Fabre
with Ralph Michael as the great French entomologist

Fabre was born 150 years ago and by the beginning of this century he was known to thousands of readers for his vivid descriptions of insect behaviour. This film takes the form of an imaginary visit to his home in Provence where Fabre re-creates many of his field experiments for the camera.
