1776

on BBC Two England

With an introduction by Hon Mrs Anne Armstrong Ambassador for the United States of America
In 1776 the Declaration of Independence by Congress was the start of colonial resistance to the British. An exhibition celebrating Bicentennial Year was opened on Wednesday by HM The Queen. It tells the British story of the American Revolution from the Stamp Act and the Boston Tea Party to John Adams presenting his credentials as first American Minister to the court of St James.
Tonight Robert Erskine visits the exhibition in the newly-converted west wing of the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich.
