CUKOR has a reputation for being an actor's director, and he has undoubtedly drawn many memorable performances from a whole range of stars. W. C. Fields in David Copperfield , Garbo in Camille, John Barrymore in Bill of Divorcement, Tracy and Hepburn in Adam's Rib and Pat and Mike, Judy Garland in A Star is Born-these are just a few examples of Cukor's outstanding achievement.
