For nearly a decade Britain's road hauliers have been able to carry our exports across the continent without repeated customs inspections at borders en route. The system, T.I.R. - Transports Internationales Routiers - is being used by an increasing number of freight carriers, often with British-made trailers -
themselves a valued export commodity.
