Life in Britain, France and Germany from 1900-50, seen through the eyes of amateur film enthusiasts.
A Legacy, 1926-47. This film re-creates a vanished world of customs, landscapes, townscapes and ways of working, lovingly preserved on film. Narrator Ray Brooks compares the film with 'throwing open the shutters of a dark room and suddenly seeing, out there, the world our grandparents knew as children, captured in an instant and preserved through the medium of amateur film.'
