Memories of Sigmund Freud

Visitors to the Freud household in Vienna were greeted not with a glass of sherry but with a well-chosen Jewish joke. According to Freud the joke fulfilled the same function as alcohol in raising the spirits.
Eva Rosenfeld first met Freud in 1924. In this conversation from the BBC Sound Archives. she talks to DR TOM MAIN about life in the Freud household, her involvement with the Psychological Wednesday Circle, and her reactions to his work.
