When PC Philip Olds was shot and paralysed, he couldn't face life in a wheelchair and vowed to walk again. Computers and electrodes helped him take a few steps, but nothing more.
Severe depression followed and eventually he killed himself. Some disabled people argue that the roots of such a tragedy lie in society's view of disability. People are simply not equipped to deal with physical impairment. Producer Tim Lambert
