Twenty-five years ago, on 2 June 1953. Elizabeth II was crowned in Westminster Abbey in a ceremony which is older than Domesday and has only been slightly modified over 1,004 years. With an introduction by the late LORD FISHER, Archbishop of Canterbury, this film of the Coronation service combines original cinema film in colour and television coverage.
The impressive state ceremonial is also a musical feast, with an orchestra of distinguished players and a choir of hundreds.
