Resurrecting the Dead Sea Scrolls. These ancient manuscripts, discovered in the Holy Land, could radically alter what Christians and Jews have believed for almost 2,000 years. And yet many of the most important texts have remained unpublished for over 40 years. Last Christmas, the long and bitter struggle to liberate the texts was brought to an end by two American authors who published unauthorised translations of the most crucial texts. Horizon returns to the caves by the Dead Sea where the scrolls were found and examines recent archaeological and carbon-dating evidence which could shed light on who wrote them and what they mean.
