1: Bonn. Beethoven worked at the court of the Elector Maximilian Franz in various capacities, and with an orchestra of over 40 players, musical life was lively. He wrote his Octet for wind in 1792, aged only 20, and by the time he was 24 he had composed his first piano concerto, which he performed at his public debut in Vienna.
