A series of ten programmes
with Kenneth Hudson
The second of a new series looking at Britain's industrial heritage - the richest legacy in Europe of monuments of the Industrial Revolution. A Grand Tour of memorials not to statesmen and soldiers but to the skills and labours of ordinary men whose work gave Britain the title of 'the workshop of the world.'
Sticklepath, a tiny hamlet in Devon, is the unlikely home of the unique survival of a once common feature of early industrial England - a complete water-driven forge foundry which served all the special needs of a local community.
