The lions of Musiara Marsh in Kenya have to struggle to survive. For five months of the year the area is teeming with wildebeest and zebra and the lions are well fed and content. But when their favoured prey migrate south during the early part of the year, food becomes hard to find. Often the only choice is to tackle large and dangerous quarry like buffalo but the lions are likely to come away badly injured.
This film follows Kali, her cubs and other members of the pride through the lean months and up to the return of the zebra and wildebeest. But even with a plentiful supply of food, a lion's life is rarely peaceful. Narrated by John King. Producer John King ; Director Simon King
