In the second of this series of six programmes, Ludovic Kennedy talks to one of Britain's most effective crime-busters about a life with crime from a detective's point of view. Leonard ' Nipper' Read headed the powerful regional crime squads and was the man who brought the Kray brothers to justice. A colourful character who became a master of disguise, 'Nipper' gives us some insight into the criminals he knew and the way he caught them, as well as expressing his hopes and fears for Britain's police force.
