The film, showing for the first time on British network television, incorporates stills, archive film and songs including Heartbreak Hotel and Hound Dog. it looks back to 1956 - the year a poor 21-year-old from Mississippi changed the face of music for ever.
Narrated by Levon Helm, drummer with rock group The Band.
