Written in 1936, Carmina Burana is a setting for soloists, chorus and orchestra of a collection of medieval Latin and German poems found over 100 years ago in a Bavarian monastery.
This production brings the poems to life in a vivid re-creation of the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. with Lucia Popp (soprano) Hermann Prey (baritone) John van Kestern (bass)
