2.5 Travel Talks
In the Rain Forest (Guiana)

Talks this term will follow the summer sun and will be given about those places where days are lengthening while ours in Britain grow shorter. Listeners will sail to the tropic seas and reach the insect-haunted gloom of the South American forest, and then come out into the glaring sunlight of the campos. They will climb the High Andes and go down to the Pacific, and when they have travelled the whole length of South American plains, they will take to the son again and hear how the longest summer day of December is spent in the Antarctic.
Last week listeners were in the tropic seas ; today Clifford Collin son, a favourite with schools, and Paul Richards , one of the naturalists of the 1929 Hingston Expedition to British Guiana, are to conduct them through a 'rain forest '. They will meet land crabs, Howler monkeys, sloths, and humming birds, and explore the two different worlds in British Guiana-first on the ground, and then among the tree-tops.
