Starring John Dall and Peggy Cummins.
As a young boy, Bart Tare has an obsession with guns. After a spell in reform school for stealing a pistol, he returns home and joins his friends at a carnival. There he meets the beautiful Annie Laurie Starr, a trick-shot artist. Their mutual passion seems a marriage made in heaven, but when poverty strikes they turn to violent crime.
This much-acclaimed B-movie, an inspiration to Godard and used in Jim McBride's remake of Breathless, was directed by Joseph H. Lewis , a master of the genre.
