Charity Hope Valentine, a taxi-dancer at the seedy Fandango Ballroom, dreams of love, marriage and a respectable future. But the whole world seems to take advantage of the warm-hearted Charity. Then one day, trapped in a lift. she meets a shy insurance agent, Oscar. Federico Fellini's story of the prostitute Cabiria and her search for love is given a New York setting in this sophisticated musical version by Bob Fosse of Cabaret fame.
