Household Talks Heard Abroad

on National Programme Daventry

View in Radio Times

CICELY HAMILTON
In this entertaining series actual broadcast talks that have been given by women abroad are to be read at the microphone. They will, of course, be translated, but the translations will be literal, and they will therefore have a charm and personality and humour all their own.
Listeners will hear advice given by women to women in possibly Germany, Yugoslavia, Czecho-slovakia, Poland, and other countries. They may hear, for instance, advice such as how to dress at an Italian wedding, and if customs vary in different countries in Europe, listeners will find that both women and children are very much the same, and the trials and humours of life no different than they are this side of the Channel.
The talks are to be introduced and commented on by Miss Cicely Hamilton , the well-known author, playwright, and actress, who has just returned from abroad.
