Congo: Spirits of the Forest

on BBC Two England

The second of the three-part series about the rich and varied natural history surrounding Africa's River Congo.

The Baaka pygmies of the congo are the supreme naturalists of the rainforest. Yet they tell of a huge dinosaur-like creature with a single horn called Mokele Mbembe, which lives in the swamps of the Ndoki. This film follows the pygmies in a search for the seemingly mythical monster.
