The Case of Elizabeth England. In
1992, Elizabeth England was living peaceful life in Jacksonville, Florida. She was 39 and single, working as a loan officer in a bank. But her life changed with one phone call from her doctor - she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and told she needed surgery. She went into hospital and had her left breast removed. When she woke up, she was told shedidn't have cancer at all, and her surgeon had removed a healthy breast. At least 40 percent of American doctors have had some form of legal action taken against them, and England felt she had to go to court to find out who was responsible forthis mistake.
