Towering Ambitions: Dan Cruickshank at Ground Zero

on BBC Two England

As the second anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center approaches, Dan Cruickshank charts the intense competition surrounding the chance to rebuild on the site of the attack. To soothe a nation's injured pride, to restore a city's financial heart, and to find a fitting memorial to comfort a bereaved population. Cruickshank follows the project's progress up to the moment when the new shape of New York - and a new American icon - is revealed.
