Starring Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball

Damon Runyon fans - who must now be counted in millions since the arrival of Guys and Dolls on the stage and screen - will be well at home in tonight's film about the little waiter in the night club who adores from afar the glamorous singer. Written and produced by Runyon himself, it brings to life many of the characters who have stemmed from his sharply satirical writing over the years, and carries the Runyonese hallmark of humour, pathos, and tragedy.

Henry Fonda takes the part of the humble waiter, unsure of himself and the world about him, while Lucille Ball plays the glamorous Gloria.
