Thirty-Minute Theatre: Token of Esteem

on BBC Radio 4 FM

by David Bartlett and Michael Davies
with Gerald Cross as Sands
Christopher Timothy as Joe

Sands: How could I agree to anything so preposterous? ... This pocket-watch was given to me by my firm as a token of their esteem after 40 long and faithful years' service. If you imagine I am going to lower it into a cup of tea simply to satisfy some moronic urge you have to compete, then you are sadly mistaken. This watch means as much to me as life itself.

(Christopher Timothy is a member of the Young Vic Theatre Company)
