A play-writing competition - the Richard Burton Drama
Award is launched today in conjunction with the ROYAL SHAKESPEARE COMPANY and RADIO TIMES and carries prizes of £3,500. His widow Sally Burton is at Pebble Mill together with the judges:
John Hurt , who worked with Richard in his last acting role in 1984; playwright
Pam Gems , creator of Piaf and Camille; and from the RSC, Colin Chambers and director Ron Daniels.
