Talk by Barbara Stewart, Ph.D.
Dr. Stewart was Lecturer in History at Rangoon University for seventeen years, and left the country in 1951. In the creation of the independent Union she sees implicit the first acceptance by the Burmese of the ' pohtical ' way of life. In this talk she considers some of the long-term implications of that acceptance.
