The sea teems with countless millions of microscopic animals which drift along with the moving waters. As these creatures form the food of many of the fish we eat an understanding of their habits and movements will help the fishermen of the world to increase their catch of this valuable source of food.
Outside broadcast cameras visit the Scottish Marine Biological Station at Millport in the Isle of Cumbrae to meet scientists engaged in this fascinating study.
