Bones of Contention
In the basements and back rooms of museums across the US lie hidden reminders of genocide - the bones of tens of thousands of Native Americans.
For scientists the collections represent a unique source of knowledge, but for the Native Americans they hold the living spirit of their relatives. This film examines the successful campaign to ensure that the bones are returned for reburial, and explores the chagrin felt by scientists at the imminent loss of their specimens.
