Journey to the Outer Limits
'I can't breathe and my feet are cold and I ain't climbing no mountain ...'
This was the reaction of one American teenager who gave up his climb not far from the top of a 19,000 ft Andean mountain peak. He and 19 other youths were part of the most gruelling Outward Bound expedition ever. It takes them first through incredible levels of stress and physical challenge during an intense wilderness survival and mountain climbing course in Colorado. They are pushed beyond limits they never dreamed they could reach.
They start as an ill-matched group. Through their interaction, and particularly through three students, we experience the anxieties and exhilaration of their journey to the outer limits.
