Jean Cocteau's The Blood of a Poet

on BBC Two England

starring Enrique Rivero. To celebrate the centenary of his birth,
BBC2 is showing two of the most imaginative films written and directed by the avantgarde poet and dramatist Jean Cocteau.
The Blood of a Poet, his very first film, displays the stylish blend of striking visual and poetic motifs that were to characterise his later work. In it Cocteau explores the role of the poet forced by talent and imagination to experience worlds closed to the ordinary man.
