With the total prize money this year increased to £51,000, the tournament now commands 'Grade A' rating in the 1976 world-wide Grand Prix of Tennis. Some of the world's leading players including Mark Edmondson, winner of the Australian Open, challenge for the Men's Singles title held by Manuel Orantes of Spain.
