The first quarter-finalist will be decided tonight with the winner guaranteed a cheque for at least £31,600.
A year ago, Ken Doherty booked his place in the last eight after claiming an epic 13-12 victory over a stubborn Graeme Dott. At one point, Doherty was 7-2 in arrears but struck back to establish an 11-9 lead. Dott won three of the next four frames but Doherty then hung on in a 42-minute decider. Stephen Hendry was also made to dig deep on his way to a 13-10 win overfellow Scot Drew Henry.
