on BBC Two England

Series examining the great scientific quests of the century. The fact that dinosaurs roamed the earth 4,500 million years ago is accepted today, but just years ago even the concept of extinction was a radical new idea. This programme explores one of the most violent periods in earth's history, and looks at how geology and palaeontology challenged the world view of evolution and cast new light on the survival of the human race.
