The A6 Murder. On 4 April 1962, James Hanratty was hanged, protesting to the end his innocence in the murder of Michael Gregsten. This year, after a lengthy campaign, his case came before the Court of Appeal. Supporters believe Hanratty was wrongfully convicted; the police maintain Hanratty was a rapist and killer. As the court now reaches its judgement, this film tells the story of a case where today's science holds the key to a 40-year-old crime. Producer Philip Martin ; Executive editor John Lynch
