Britain's greatest golfer plays for the first time in a US v World series:
Gay Brewer (US) v Tony Jacklin (Great Britain) at St Andrews

In the second match of this new 13-match series on great British and Irish courses, Jacklin, British Open champion of 1969 and US Open champion of 1970, meets the American Ryder Cup player who won the US Masters, then twice in succession became Alcan 'Golfer of the Year.' They play on the historic Old Course at the Home of Golf, where in 1967 Brewer won a world-record prize of £23,000 in the Alcan.
Prize-money: $4,000 to the winner $2,000 to the loser
