Video Nation

on BBC Two England

The video diary goes nationwide. Fifty people from all over the country have been equipped with camcorders to film their daily lives. Their recordings will be seen in a series of programmes during the year, building up a unique picture of life in Britain today.

Attitudes to money are the focus of the first fruits of this BBC project, subtitled Money, Money, Money. "I've had it, squandered it, lost it, made it, given it away," says an unemployed executive. A 12-year-old schoolgirl remarks: "I love money - it's my favourite thing."
What emerges is a frank and often surprising insight into the mood of a nation seriously worried about money.
